Empresaria is Spanish for "entrepreneur" and reflects both the culture and structure of the organisation. Empresaria is a highly de-centralised group with a small head office team focused on group development, financial management, risk management and investor relations and over 40 operationally autonomous specialist staffing companies.
Group strategy and structure are both defined by an underlying philosophy of "management equity". It is our belief that building a successful, sustainable people business is best achieved by aligning the interests of management and group shareholders by allowing key people to buy a meaningful stake in the companies they run. The concept of ownership is extended not only to share holding, but also to the responsibility for running a business with the freedom and accountability entailed.
All of the companies in the Group are started either by management teams, sponsored and supported by Empresaria, or acquired as part of a management led acquisition, possibly an MBO or MBI where the existing management team either acquired or retained a significant equity stake in the company.
