AP Senior Strategic Procurement Engineer
Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Industrial Division is partnered with a multinational organization who is established in the field of manufacturing. Our client is seeking for an AP Senior Strategic Procurement Engineer to present the Asia Pacific region and fully participate with the ACT Global Procurement Teams in supplier selection and management.

Job summary:
The successful Applicant will be responsible to develop and evaluate business proposals, request for quotations, make supplier risk assessments and make recommendations regarding material sourcing options for the division - MIN data integrity and REACH compliance. The candidate will be reporting to AP Strategic Procurement Manager.

Key job responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:

  • To support division policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Source, evaluate and qualify new suppliers to develop a world-class supplier base in Asia.
  • Support and manage the material sourcing plan to ensure timely availability of direct materials.
  • Establish and meet cost containment/cost reduction targets by pursuing opportunities through alternate sourcing, design improvements, and benchmarking.
  • Manage existing Asia supplier base to ensure quality levels and continued cost improvement objectives are maintained.
  • Identify new sources for components supporting product line transfers and new products.
  • Manage the overall sourcing process from quote pack preparation, review of technical and commercial matters, negotiations with suppliers and final selection.
  • Support Production and Materials Management Teams to ensure optimum inventory levels are achieved.
  • Coordinate with R&D/Product engineers regarding requirements for product transfers and new product developments.
  • Coordinate with all ACT A/P manufacturing sites to consolidate and optimize pricing on direct materials.
  • Develop strategies in conjunction with other world area procurement organizations to realize and maximize the advantage of AP low-cost suppliers.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with other ACT facilities and corporate office.
  • Perform and conduct sourcing activities (RFQ/ES) in the available tools and systems.
  • Negotiate relevant contract terms with suppliers according to the corporate requirement and parameters of legal and category guideline.


Key job requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Preferably at least 5 years' experience in Asian Procurement/Sourcing initiatives.
  • Exposure to and understanding of FMOL and the Reverse Auction process will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (English Language).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to negotiate complex terms and conditions with potential and existing suppliers.
  • Ability to travel extensively in the Asia Pacific region (primarily) and Globally (occasionally).
  • Understanding of the materials planning process including MRP and production planning.
