Branch Manager

Role Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for the management, servicing and development of the agency business of the entire branch where he/she is required to plan, initiate, oversee and review business plan of the branch to maximise income, growth and profit.

Main Responsibilities

The Branch Manager will perform to

Business Growth

  • Develop, implement and monitoring business/sales plan in order to achieve branch targeted budget/ GWP growth.
  • Achieve branch targeted underwriting profit for company.
  • Assign sales and service target to marketing staffs.

Agency Development

  • Contribute to the growth of the company by recruiting new agents and new marketing staff, and monitoring agent's productivity and production.
  • Plan and conduct training including ensuring agent's CPD hours are met, market research and provide market feedback from agents and marketing staff to HQ and Management.
  • Active working with marketing staffs to ensure excellent/improve service level to customers/agents to meet customers/agents expectation.

Cost Management

  • Manage the overhead cost and management expenses cost of branch and also budget

Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance to external regulations and internal policies, guideline and procedures for effective risk, agency and branch management - operations & administration
  • Achieve satisfactory audit findings and compliance to statutory, regulatory and internal policies and procedures.

Others

  • To ensure sufficient staffing and well trained and effective work force to support the business requirement of branch in terms of efficiency and productivity
  • To perform any other duties & responsibilities as expected of a Branch Manager, or as assigned by the Superior or Management

Requirements

  • A Degree/Diploma or Professional Insurance qualification (minimum AMII Level 1/ DMII)
  • Minimum 5 years managerial working experience in Sales & Marketing function in the General Insurance industry with preference having branch management experience.
  • Strong leadership and wide market networking
  • Negotiation and relationship management, especially ability to handle all levels of intermediaries - agents and business partners
  • Strong business, employees, and customer focused.
  • Good verbal and Written communication
  • Independent but with integrity and credibility
