Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of Indonesia's leading FMCG Companies. Our respected client is seeking an executive with at least 3 years of experience in the Channel and Category Development role for the Category and Channel Development Manager job. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this role, you will be responsible for translating the category vision, consumer insights, and shopper behavior into actionable business opportunities aligned with channel strategies to maximize business growth and ROI. Your focus will be on developing in-store strategies, motivating customers and shoppers positively, and ensuring the perfect store implementation across channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of customized category leadership plans and selling stories for key customers.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of category definition, role, assessment, and scorecard.
  • Develop and implement category strategies, including assortment, pricing, merchandising, and promotions.
  • Monitor and review the execution of category plans, developing corrective action plans as needed.
  • Provide merchandising strategies and solutions aligning with all channels' categories, customer, and shopper insights.
  • Develop assortment guidelines, planograms, and display and communication strategies for various shopper touchpoints.
  • Manage and monitor the D&E (display and equipment) budget, optimizing ROI.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors for permanent visibility and display solutions, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support Customer Marketing in developing launch, relaunch, and activation plans.
  • Lead the development of the Click & Mortar channel.
  • Develop, review, and improve the Picture of Success for the Perfect Store.
  • Support perfect store operations and implementation processes.
  • Monitor and review Perfect Store scores and scope, developing corrective action plans to meet targets.
  • Collaborate with the channel team to drive category initiatives and ensure the category vision comes to life in stores.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to draw insights from limited information and influence channel teams and customers.
  • Engage with the global category team and EA peers to implement best practices and category vision locally.
  • Educate and influence sales operations and distributor teams to execute merchandising strategies aligned with company objectives and channel strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of the Perfect Store program.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of FMCG experience with a multinational company.
  • 2-3 years of experience in category management and/or channel development.
  • 2 years of sales experience is required.
  • Experience in leading Perfect Store programs and/or category management for MT customers.
  • Familiarity with Spaceman software and sales operation knowledge.
  • In-depth understanding of the Indonesia channel landscape and category dynamics.
  • Strong category acumen and shopper knowledge, including the path to purchase and shopping missions.
  • Experience in managing 3rd party vendors for displays and visibility solutions.
