Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a retail apparel company in the Philippines. Our respected client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer who will manage a lifestyle brand which has been in the Philippines for more than 30 years, with a chance to build and grow a new organization. The job is based in Laguna, Philippines with a Mondays to Fridays onsite work setup.
Job summary:
Reports to the Executive Officers with a focus on operational strategies. The COO is tasked with implementing daily operations, aligned with that goal and the company's strategies. His of her individual role depends largely on the company itself and the Executive Officers' personal style. In many cases, the COO is chosen to complement the strengths and weaknesses of the Executive Officers to bring the best leaderships to the forefront.
Key job requirements:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Officers in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs.
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organization outcomes are met.
  • Ensure effective recruiting, on-boarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
  • Adhere to company, government and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement
  • Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed with Executive Officers.
  • Directly oversee Operations (Sales, Marketing, Merchandising/Creative, Visual, E-com), HR, IT Accounting, Treasury, Audit, Planning & Budget, Payroll, Loss Prevention, Legal, Engineering, Warehouse, Production and closely work with the Executive Officers on Sales Management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets over the near term.
  • Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves targets relative to growth and profitability.
  • Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting.
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders.


Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in Executive Leadership position
  • Leadership skills with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
  • Master's degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • Willing to work onsite and be based in Laguna
