Our respected client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gaming Tax Specialist to join our finance team.
The Gaming Tax Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and providing expertise in gaming industry taxation. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The job is in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines, and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Key job responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns and gaming tax reports.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and interpret their impact on financial activities.
- Develop a deep understanding of online gaming revenue recognition and cost accounting.
- Analyze financial data to optimize tax strategies while maintaining compliance.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all tax-related documentation and transactions.
- Address international taxation issues, including transfer pricing and withholding taxes, if applicable.
- Utilize finance systems to track and report on financial data accurately.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address tax-related inquiries.
- Identify potential tax-related issues and develop suitable recommendations to resolve challenges.
- Collaborate within a team, both small and large, and work independently as needed.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all tax-related tasks.
- Prioritize projects, manage deadlines, and multitask effectively to meet tax-related responsibilities.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to create detailed tax reports and accurately complete tax forms.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Key job requirements:
- For internal hires: 5 years' combined experience in finance-related roles.
- For external hires: At least 5 years of experience working in accounting, finance, or audit, with experience in taxation being an advantage.
- Proficient in English (verbal and written)
- Graduate of BS Accountancy or related course.
- CPA qualified or any finance-related certification is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Highly accurate and detail-oriented in all processes and work produced.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- In-depth understanding of taxation concepts.
- Knowledge of online gaming business revenue recognition and related cost accounting.
- Exposure to international working environments.
- Proficient in using finance systems.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Thrives in both small team and larger group environments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
