Hardware Test/Validation

Initial freelance contract till end of 2023 + extensions

Munich, Germany

* System Integration (HW/SW) of our client's Radar ICs (analog and digital SoC mounted on validation PCBs

  • Onsite they have a RF lab
  • Have around 20 engineers working in this lab
  • Mix of digital and analog functionalities in high performance processing domain - mixers, amplifiers, up down converters, 4 77Ghz
  • Able to support on executing on the tests in the lab in Munich
  • Knowing hardware, understand the test cases that have been written


* System (SW/HW) Release Test and Release Package generation

* Development, implementation and automation of system integration tests for Radar IC (Ethernet, GPIB, ...)
* Setup RF measurement instrumentation and DUT (Spectrum analyser, Oscilloscope, Freq multiplier, VNA)
* Measurement and characterization of RF device under test (DUT)
* Programming (adapting and tailoring) of firmware (ARM, DSP, FPGA) for validation purpose
* Debugging of firmware using Lauterbach/Trace32
* Running and evaluating Trace32 data to monitor system reaction on interrupt events
* Developing, running of test scripts and for measurement automation


  • Hardware, PCB + chip traces, memory
  • How integrated circuits are programmed, so the contractor is able to understand the source code
  • Knowledge of Matlab or automating tests, can be LabVIEW, test automation
  • Lauterbach Trace32 is important ideally, other debugging is also possible
