Position: Certified Pharmacy Technician
Skills required: Inpatient, IV Experience, Chemo-Preferred
Ohio Certified license required
Dates of Coverage needed: Start ASAP and cover until probably end of February for 40 hours/week
Coverage Hours needed: Monday-Friday 6AM-3:30PM
Every 3rd weekend coverage needed: 7AM-3:30PM
Site Automation: Pyxis and PharmacyKeeper; experience preferred
Site Specialty Areas: Chemo/Infusion
Staff Size: 33 FTEs
1 day of orientation is required prior to start
No travel expenses are approved
Dress Code: Light Grey Scrubs
Job responsibilities:

  1. Performs the necessary activities associated with the preparation and distribution of non-sterile compounding and repackaging using proper technique and abide by USP 795 standards;
  2. Performs the necessary activities associated with the preparation and distribution of sterile products using proper aseptic technique and abide by USP 797 standards;
  3. Performs the necessary activities associated with the preparation and distribution of hazardous drugs proper technique and abide by USP 800 standards;
  4. Performs the necessary activities associated with the unit dose distribution system;
  5. Distribute controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains the necessary records associated with this responsibility;
  6. Participates in inventory management activities including but not limited to ordering, receiving, monitoring inventory levels, outdates, and stock rotation;
  7. Assists in maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and records consistent with regulations and standards governing the practice of pharmacy;
  8. Conducts and documents inspection of assigned area(s) of responsibility on monthly basis as well as maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area;
  9. Assists the pharmacist with answering phone calls and providing operational assistance within a technicians scope of practice;
  10. Collaborate with other departments to maintain pharmacy and hospital operations
