Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a global technology company focused on delivering solutions for cybersecurity, securing mobility, and identity management. Our respected client is seeking an information technology (IT) professional for the job of Lead DevOps Engineer. The job is based in Makati City, Philippines but currently offers a WFH arrangement until further notice.

Job Summary:

The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for managing the project team's development of continuous integration and deployment solutions, designing and facilitating implementation of CI/CD solutions to maximize software delivery performance.
Key job responsibilities include:

  • DevOps
    • Identify areas for optimization and innovation in the automated deployment solution
    • Design elegant solutions that work seamlessly in different environments while minimizing technical debt
    • Strive to simplify deployment and operation of different applications
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal designs of new features
    • Coaches and guides DevOps members in the team
    • Research and assess technologies to simplify deployment automation and monitoring
    • Administer and maintain existing internal software development infrastructure
    • Development and ongoing enhancement to CI/CD pipelines to automate wherever possible and improve development team productivity
    • Prepares accomplishment report for documentation and manager monitoring.
    • Assists the Development Manager, as necessary

​​​​​​Key job requirements include:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of technical experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, pipeline automation
  • Must possess the following technical skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of the concepts of build and deployment
    • Advanced knowledge of the concepts of version control
    • Advanced knowledge of pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar pipeline tools
    • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems
    • Advanced knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible
    • Advance knowledge of containers and orchestration tools (Dockers, Kubernetes)
    • Knowledge of scripting languages (Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, Bash, others)
    • Knowledge of Cloud computing
  • Strong experience building enterprise deployments
  • Understands software design and development best practices, and source code maintenance practices such as versioning, branching and tagging
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools
  • Experience with one or more Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Proficient in Ansible, Bash, Python scripting libraries
  • Experience with administering Linux servers
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar pipeline tools
  • Experience with tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
