MFRS 17 Reinsurance Manager, based in KL

You will be reporting to CFO with responsibility and accountability for MFRS 17 lead, capital management lead, Financial Performance Analysis and Treaty Accounting Lead

Key Responsibilities

MFRS 17 Lead

  • Overall subject Champion and project lead
  • BNM parallel run in complying with IFRS 17 standard
  • BNM Parallel run + 17 standard + new valuation liabilities exposure draft + RBC 2 Exposure Draft and ensure reconciliation between local GAAP vs regional reporting.

Capital Management Lead

  • Existing MFRS 4
  • Simulation run for MFRS17 and ED Valuation + ED RBC 2
  • Budgeting and Forecasting

Financial Performance Analysis

  • Pre-Closing analysis to ensure error free and post Closing analysis to pick up critical development points and trends to highlight to Excom.

Treaty Accounting Lead

  • Ensure smooth running of Treaty Prop and Treaty Non Prop portfolio
  • Premium Adjustment computation
  • Reinstatement Premium computation
  • Event Loss calculation
  • RI Profit comm calculation
  • Overall Treaty GL Control vs Third Party Confirmation
  • Treaty Collection.

Skills/ Experience

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accountancy, or possess an accountancy professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience in in General Insurance or reinsurance Industry or auditor with relevant experience and deep understanding of reporting, budgeting and reinsurance accounting matters.

Have good communication skills - both written and verbal, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with senior business partners, resolving problems cross-functionally across departments and regions

Excellent business and commercial judgement, analytical and decision-making skills

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment

You should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with problem-solving skill. Intellectual curiosity, strong professional judgement, work independently and have initiative mindset.
