Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading multinational company with a core focus on specialty fats. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 10 years' experience in R&D in multinational company for the job of R&D Manager. The job is based in Gresik, Indonesia.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Direct report to the Director
  • Provide strategic leadership in steering the overall product development strategy and continuous improvement of existing products, aligning with local market demands and industry trends.
  • Analyze and interpret local consumer insights and food trends, collaborating closely with both international and regional Business Development Unit and Marketing Teams to provide strategic direction for product development.
  • Oversee and coordinate key technical strategy and quality management system objectives for client's specialty fat businesses
  • Direct key focus research and strategy pertaining to oil processing and its optimization in alignment with regulatory and market requirements
  • Oversee and manage R&D projects from conception to completion, with emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency
  • Lead R&D team, actively engaging in the resolution of complex technical challenges encountered by customers and ensuring efficient collaboration.
  • Spearhead the development and improvement of quality evaluation processes and in-house analytical methodologies for specialty fats
  • Drive innovation and technology adoption, overseeing the end-to-end process from ideation to commercialization, emphasizing relevance to the local Indonesian market.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Applied Bio-Science or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a substantial background with a minimum of 10 years in senior roles within the edible oil industry, showcasing expertise in palm oil processing and product development
  • In-depth knowledge of the specialty fats industry, market dynamics, and customer requirements
  • Proven leadership experience in senior management, preferably within the edible oil industry or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Results-oriented professional approach and attitude towards proactive problem-solving
  • Outgoing with excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking and thriving in a collaborative setting
  • Extensive experience working in a technical role is essential, with proven experience with mentoring and developing individuals
  • Willingness to be based in Gresik
