Radar System & Applications Validation Engineer

Freelance contract till the end of 2023 + extensions
Munich, Germany

Tasks

  • Validate next generation 77GHz automotive radar chips on system level
  • Measurement and characterization of RF device under test (DUT) over various use cases, onsite in Munich RF lab
  • Collect and structure measurement result data, and populate report templates
  • Build and bring-up HW/SW-in-the-loop test benches
  • Develop, tailor, maintain an debug test scripts for test automation
  • Build and debug SW for embedded devices

Required Education & Experience

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Practical experience with setup and configuration of HW/SW test systems (DUT) and with RF measurement instrumentation (spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, freq multiplier, VNA, …)
  • Basic understanding of analog and digital hardware elements, functional blocks, and performance metrics (intermodulation, noise figure, compression, SI/PI, BER, etc.)
  • Practical experience with coding (adapting and tailoring) and debugging of firmware (ARM, DSP, FPGA) using Lauterbach/Trace32
  • Able to write scripts to control instrumentation and DUT, to automate tests, and to gather/structure/store of measurement result data, e. g. using MATLAB
  • Knowledge in functional safety ISO 26262 is mandatory (training certificate)
  • Background and basic understanding in RF/GHz domain and electromagnetics is a plus
  • Experience with radar target simulators and mmWave circuit boards is a plus
