Radar Test Automation SW Engineer

Initial freelance contract till end of 2024 + extensions

Munich, Germany

Work Areas:
* Validate next generation 77GHz automotive radar chips on system level
* Collect and structure measurement result data, and populate report templates
* Build and bring-up HW/SW-in-the-loop test benches
* Develop, tailor, maintain and debug test scripts for test automation in Java
* Build and debug SW for embedded devices

Required Education & Experience:
* BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
* 3+ years of relevant industry experience
* Practical experience with setup and configuration of HW/SW test systems (DUT) and with RF measurement instrumentation (spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, freq multiplier, VNA, …)
* Able to write scripts to control instrumentation and DUT, to automate tests, and to gather/structure/store of measurement result data, e. g. using MATLAB
* Develop, tailor, debug and maintain SW scripts in Java for test automation, including RF DUT, test instrumentation devices and thermal conditioner devices (thermostreamer)
* Configure and debug instrument drivers in Java (Ethernet, GPIB, VISA, ...)
* Develop, tailor, debug and maintain test scripts for automated test sequence execution, automated measurement results data collection, data processing and report generation
* Improve/extend existing scripts covering error reporting and handling
* IT infrastructure setup (computer platform, compiler, bus interfaces, …) for radar test bench
* Knowledge in functional safety ISO 26262 is mandatory (training certificate)
* Background and basic understanding in RF/GHz domain and electromagnetics is a plus
* Experience with radar target simulators and mmWave circuit boards is a plus

Other skills / characteristics:
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively across organizational and geographical boundaries
* Good verbal and written communication/presentation skills in English. Good listener
* Team spirit, willingness to share knowledge and ability to interact internally and externally
* Presence required 5 days per week due to laboratory opening hours, daily during core working hours 9am-4pm
