We are currently working with a large multinational Bank based in the city who have an opportunity for someone with payments knowledge and experience to join our Domestic Payments team within the Clearing and Payments Dept.
The successful candidate will be expected to assist with the operational processing and authorisation of a multitude of UK domestic payments and cheque clearing, observing the relevant internal policies and regulations.
They will play an integral role within the team, offering daily support to colleagues, being a driving force within the team to achieve the deliverance of continued support the banks business developments and growth.

Main Responsibilities:
* Work within our Domestic Payments team to process and authorise a range of UK domestic payments including, but not limited to;
 BACS, and Faster Payments
 U.K. domestic cheque clearing, bank draft clearing and giro credits
 The setting up and processing of regular customer payments such as Standing Orders, Direct Debits etc.
* Investigate and resolve any operational processing issues, general payment queries and initiate returns
* Assist with the streamlining of processes, demonstrating innovation whilst being mindful of the relevant regulations and operational risks
* Support the testing and implementation of new systems and system upgrades
* Assist with the reviewing and documenting of established business procedures
* Uphold high customer satisfaction standards
* Capture statistical information for reporting
* Provide training and guidance to new joiners and junior staff
* Complete tasks and duties as assigned by the team head to ensure the continued efficiency of the department

Essential Skills:
Advanced knowledge and experience within the financial sector processing BACS, CHAPS, SWIFT and Faster Payments.
Strong academic background with a minimum of 3 A levels or equivalent with GCSE's in Mathematics and English.
A fast learner who's adaptable to change.
Advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
