Executive Recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Technology division is currently recruiting on behalf of a client in the print media industry. Our distinguished client is currently seeking for a Senior Business Development Manager with at least 8 years' experience within the, print media, digital publication and partnership acquiring industry.

The winning candidate will be at the centre of strategizing business development approaches, revenue stream creation, client acquisition and closely partner with the media and editorial team. The candidate will also be overlooking the digital transformation efforts of the business.

Job responsibilities:

  • Strategize on potential revenue stream creation initiatives
  • Strategizing on digital transformation initiative of printed press to online digital press
  • Maintain gross margins in line with business guidelines
  • Identify and manage leads from multiple sources [e.g. Visible in territory, Newspapers, Magazines, Internet, Trade Shows, Historical data and Email campaigns]
  • Understand customer needs and advise of other products and services which could suit their current or future needs
  • Drive long term growth by building relationships with customers
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues, market products and services knowledge
  • Address any customer issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Submit required reports in a timely manner
  • Perform other tasks as required


Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree. Post Graduate Diploma. Professional Degree. Linguistic/Languages. Mass Communications or equivalent
  • Required language English
  • At least 8 year(s) of working experience in Print Media Journalism, in reporting and editing and in newsroom operation in a recognised English language daily newspaper
  • Creative person and team player with great people skills and excellent news judgement
  • Desirable to have experience in the Print industry [Design, Promotional Products, Signage, Events, Marketing materials]
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, develop existing customers and win new customers
  • Strong relationship building skills and management skills with a high degree of responsiveness, and integrity. Strong people skills / team skills are essential for this role
  • A sales professional with a minimum of five years sales experience and proven track record of successfully growing revenues through implementing business development, strategy, process - providing solutions B2B
  • Ability to drive sales activity and lead/manage sales activity with internal Sales Account Executive(s)
  • Knowledge of strategic selling, sales methodologies, sales reporting and sales targeting
  • Competent in identifying, managing, driving and closing quotes/sales pipeline
  • Commercially astute and excellent negotiation, influencing, and conflict management skills
  • Professionally persistent in achieving a target
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written), with attention to detail
