Software Engineer (Backend)


The organization is an early-stage startup founded in 2018 by Stanford Alumni and their board consists of C-suite execs from Pfizer and Genentech. They are an engineering driven biotech company who's core technology utilizes gene editing and Crispr technologies to develop drugs for precision cancer therapeutics.


They are looking for an engineer to join the team and immediately become owners in their respective projects meaning a lot of responsibility, strategic input and autonomy from day one. The technical work will involve backend coding in Python, developing pipelines from scratch, developing API's and API classes, setting up AWS pipelines and infrastructure. You will work closely with computational biologists and scientists reporting into the head of engineering and working with senior team regularly.


- Relevant BS / MS / PHD in computer science or similar

- 2+ years industry experience as a software engineer

- Strong python coding skills (backend for production grade coding)

- experience with API development (ideally building API's or API classes from the ground up)

- Experience in an AWS environment

- Biotech domain knowledge is a bonus but NOT required

- Must be a team player able to work collaboratively with other team members and groups

They are offering a competitive base salary, equity, 401k match. Hybrid working is available but must be willing to work onsite 3 days per week.
