Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a global technology company who is delivering truly prominent IT solutions, IT Design, IT Management, Data Security, Business Reform, and Infrastructure Plan for enterprises. Due to the company's expansion to EMEA and Manila, our respected client is currently looking for a professional who has experience for the job of Tax Analyst I. The company is based in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines, that currently offers hybrid set - up (house to house transportation covered via Grab Corporate account) with night shift work hours and devices/equipment will be provided.

Position Overview:

The Tax Analyst I will be part of a local sales tax team supporting North America - Sales Tax Department operations. Responsibilities will encompass varied aspects of the sales tax function, which include tax returns compliance, tax research, tax adjustments, audit support, Taxhelp desk, internal reporting, Vertex tax software responsibilities, unclaimed property reporting and special projects. He or She will be responsible for other tasks and duties assigned by immediate superiors.

Job Description:

  • The Tax Analyst I will be responsible for developing efficient practices to serve business needs.
  • Process client's sales tax exemption request
  • Validate tax exempt certificates or other tax documents from customers and maintain on file
  • Research and analysis of general State tax rules applicable on handled tax issues
  • Create and provide tax forms such as W9, resale certificates for vendors and clients
  • Create customer notification letters on certain tax exemption update projects
  • Test validity of sales tax rates and zero taxed charges on invoices
  • Assist answering internal and external client questions and issues within the tax help function
  • Assist on the administration of state and local tax audits
  • Prepare sales detail for auditors,
  • Copy or print exemption certificates and invoices
  • Prepare and file sales and use Tax Return , California e-waste fee , Canada GST/QST returns and other compliance filings
  • Respond to notices from Tax Authorities and maintain good standing status on all sales and use tax and other tax accounts
  • Generate and summarize sales and tax reports by state and location for compliance filings , income tax schedules and other reports as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, from four-year College or University
  • At least 1 year of experience in US Taxation and other related experience.
  • Able to thrive in an environment characterized by rapidly changing requirements and an ongoing focus on meeting operational objectives
  • Strong written and verbal English communications skills
  • Able to successfully manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong commitment to company values and operating principles


Preferred

  • Experience supporting or working in shared service for a US company or BPO industry
