Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading Indonesian provider of integrated one-stop sea logistics and transportation solutions for bulk materials, particularly coal. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 10 years' experience in transhipment and shipping for the job of Traffic Operations Lead. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Report directly to Manager Traffic and Commercial
  • Handle tug & barge scheduling and delivery
  • Review the contract both with the supplier and buyer in coal trading agreement
  • Prepare the document for shipping, coordination with the commercial team
  • Prepare the tug & barge for the delivery, coordination with the operation team
  • Freight management and negotiation of domestic freight contracts ensuring lowest cost and highest service objectives are aligned and achieved
  • Negotiate the contract with the coal buyer
  • Supervising a team of traffic operations and scheduling
  • Clear understanding of the marine contractual aspects for tugs and barges as well the commercial operations execution for example relating to operational issues, freight economics and process planning
  • Strong acumen in Financial Management, Operational Cost and Budgeting Control
  • Managing pricing cost of service and customer requirement

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in logistics, or discipline from reputable university
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in traffic operations of tug & barge and coal trading
  • Extensive knowledge of tug & barge and coal trading in domestic area
  • Knowledge of multimodal integral marine logistics, and Shipping are desirable
  • Analytical skills and sound financial understanding of the shipping and coal trading contract
  • Knowledge of the coal trading logistics suppliers that operate in the domestic market
  • Excellent management skills - with ability to identify critical path issues and develop solutions to keep a program on track
  • Clear understanding of ethics and compliance issues
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills
  • Experiences at shipping coal trading industry are preferred
  • Solid leadership skills, mentoring and coaching
